Goddess Saraswati

Goddess Saraswati is the Goddess of knowledge,speech,arts and music.She is divine consort of Lord Brahma,the creator of the universe. She is mostly worshipped by students all over the world.
Saraswati the consort of Brahma :
Lord Brahma is the first member of the Hindu trinity and creator of the universe. Since creation of the world requires knowledge , Goddess Saraswati provides him with all the knowledge to create a beautiful Universe.

Goddess Saraswati is often seen in yellow skin dressed in a pure white saree. She holds veena(A musical instrument) in her two hands and sitting on a white Lotus, She holds a book in one hand and a feather leaf in the other hand.
The book she holds indicates a eternal and universal knowledge as well her perfection of the scriptures. Her four arms represents the four aspects of human personality i.e mind,intellect,vigilance and ego.

Vasant Panchami

Vasant Panchami is the spring season which is celebrated as a festival by many of the Hindu people. The word Vasant/Basant means spring and 'Panchami' means fifth day. Which is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.

Goddess Parvati,Goddess of Love & Devotion

Goddess Parvati is also known as the Goddess of Love and Devotion.She is often called as Shakti and worshipped by millions all over the world.Especially by Hindu women for the well being of their families.
After the death of Sati, Lord Shiva was depressed and went back to his cave and started meditating.The Demons took the chance of this situation and attacked all the Gods in the heaven and drove them away.
Then all the Gods along with king of Gods along with king of Gods Indra went to seek help from Lord Shiva, But Lord Shiva could not be moved by their appeals as he was in depression and mediating. Later all the Gods turned away and went to seek Goddess Sakthi help.
On hearing their appeal Goddess Sakthi advices the God's that only a child of Lord Shiva and Parvati can defeat the demons in heaven and also said that Goddess Sati will be born again as Goddess Parvati and married to Lord Shiva.
In their union a child will be born and he will defeat the demons and help the Gods to retain their kingdom in heaven. As Goddess Sati said Parvati an incarnation of Sati was born to the king of mountains. From her childhood she likes Lord Shiva and would go to his cave and worship him. Everyday she would clean the cave and decorate the cave with beautiful flowers. But Lord Shiva couldn't move by her devotion towards him.
Then she thought of taking a penance and left to the forest, As she started the penance without food and shelter . She started meditating day and night, even in hot sun and rainy cloud's. Then Lord Brahma was pleased by her penance and appeared before her to seek a wish that he could fullfill. Then Goddess Parvati asked him to unite her and Lord Shiva. Then Lord Brahma blessed her with her wish, She immediately appeared before Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva was mesmerised her beaut and married her.
Later Lord Kartikeya and Lord Ganesh were born who killed all the demons and restored the Gods palaces in Heaven.

Goddess Laxmi

During the festivals of Diwali, Which is also called festival of Lights, Hindu families particularly women in their house hold draw different Rangoli designs inside and outside of their house and perform Lakshmi Puja. During the festival of Dusshera also Hindus worship Goddess Lakshmi ceremonially at home an pray for her blessings.
Many also believe that on that day Goddess herself will Visit the homes and bless them with wealth and prosperity.We often see Lord Ganesha, Lakshmi, and Saraswati together which symbolises that wealth must be accompanied by good people and humility.

Ashta Lakshmi : 8 Forms
  1. Adi lakshmi : In this form Goddess Lakshmi stays with Lord Narayana in Vaikuntha, She is also called Rama, which resembles happiness to the mankind.In this form Lakshmi is seen serving Lord Narayana. She is also known as Adi Lakshmi or Rama Lakshmi serving narayana which symbolises serving the whole creation.
  2. Dhanya Lakshmi : The word 'Dhanya' means grains, Lakshmi is also known as the Goddess of harvest who blesses all the farmers with abundance and success in harvest.
  3. Dhairya Lakshmi : This form of Goddess Lakshmi grants the power of courage and strength to over come any difficulties in her devotees life's, She blesses her devotees with a good victory. So worshipping Dhairya Lakshmi one can lead a life with Good patience and inner stability.
  4. Gaja Lakshmi : To obtain the nectar Gods and Demons churned the ocean with the help of a serpent tied to a big mountain, During the churning of the ocean Mata Lakshmi came out of the ocean . Sitting on a beautiful Lotus flowers and also holding lotus flowers in both hands with two elephants by her sides holding beautiful vessels each.
  5. Santan Lakshmi : Children are the greatest treasure to the mother and father in a family. People who worship Santan Lakshmi who is the form of Sri Lakshmi will be blessed with wealth in the form of children with good health and a long life.
  6. Vijay lakshmi : The word 'Vijay' means Victory, hence people who worship Vijay Lakshmi will be blessed with good victories at all time and in all the conditions.
  7. Dhana Lakshmi : The word 'Dhana' means wealth, which also come in many forms, like peace,nature,love,health,luck,family,food and prosperity.
  8. Vidya Lakshmi : 'Vidya' means education which is the base for any human life, which brings a huge change to the mankind. It contains sincerity,veracity,simplicity and charity , which can give immortality.
